University College Cork (UCC) was founded as Queen's College, Cork in 1845 and was opened to students in 1849. UCC is an international institution with over 10,800 students in attendance. Faculties are Arts, Celtic Studies, Commerce, Law, Medicine (including Dentistry), Engineering, Science, Food Science and Technology. The College attracts students from all over the world, over 54 countries are represented on campus, thus contributing to the cultural richness of the University.
